Amstaff-Legacy – A Community Call to Preserve Our Breed’s Stories

The first Amstaff-Legacy interview was published on September 25th with Dr. Sean Nowicki, DVM (Cruisin’ Kennels) — a interview that was warmly received by enthusiasts, newcomers, experienced breeders, and long-time members of our community alike.

Before this milestone, we personally reached out to over 40 breeders worldwide, all with more than two decades of experience within the American Staffordshire Terrier community. We were grateful for several positive responses — yet, sadly, many did not follow-thought and contribute with their inspirational life stories from years of experience and important knowledge from the breed.

We have not given up!

Reminders have been sent to those who initially agreed to contribute, including several who have not yet replied. As one of the founders, I want to share that reaching out has not been easy. For the past two and a half years, I’ve had no active social media accounts aside from LinkedIn, which has made reconnecting with mentors, peers, and long-time friends a task of digging through old email threads and even accounts untouched for over a decade.

Your support matters.

We would truly appreciate help spreading the word via social media. Sharing our project through posts, stories, groups, and personal messages is one of the most powerful ways to reach voices who may not otherwise see our outreach.

At this stage, our goal is to gather tips for upcoming interviews, starting first with those who have two to three decades of experience — and later following the timeline of involvement in the breed. We are also welcoming interviews in other languages. To ensure authenticity and respect for contributions, we use accurate AI-assisted services for translation and proofreading, with each contributor reviewing and approving every part of their interview before it is published.

We are also happy to accept interviews contributed by family members of known breeders, non-active breeders, or individuals deeply connected to those whose stories deserve to be told. The core mission remains simple: to share and preserve knowledge from generation to generation.

Every interviewee receives the same questions and full freedom to share their honest and authentic story for the sake of the community. Contributors are also encouraged to share historical documentation — photographs, handwritten letters, pedigrees, videos, and more. All material is published with copyright protection in the contributor’s name, ensuring that nothing is shared without consent in this non-profit, passion-driven project.

The Amstaff-Legacy Project is not partial or promotional — it is about the storyteller’s voice, unfiltered and authentic. We do not censor interviews, unless there is content that directly and intentionally targets individuals or their breeding programs inappropriately.
